LABEMA
Sustainable
|
Green chemistry, sustainable chemistry,
biochemistry, plant chemistry, eco-design,…
!
Many associations,
label, exist or will emerge.
The ideas emerged in 1998, with the
awareness of the need for further guidance:
green chemistry.
The founding principles are twelve in
number:
| 1.
|
Prevention:
it is better to produce less
waste than investment in sanitation
or waste disposal.
|
| 2.
|
The atom economy:
the syntheses must be designed
in order to maximize the incorporation
of materials used in the process
for the final product.
|
| 3.
|
When it is possible,
syntheses methods must be conceived
to use and create little or
no substances toxic to humans
and without environmental consequences.
|
| 4.
|
Chemicals products
must be conceived in order to
realize their primary function
with a minimal toxicity.
|
| 5.
|
When it is possible,
elimination of the use of auxiliary
substances (solvent, separating
agent…) or use inoffensive substances.
Some no conventional activation
methods could be used: water
as a solvent, supercritics fluids,
microwave heating, substituting
ionic liquids,…
|
| 6.
|
Energy requirements
of chemical processes have an
impact on the economy and the
environment that must be considered
and should be minimized. We
must develop methods of synthesis
conditions of temperature and
atmospheric pressure.
|
| 7.
|
When the technology
and financial resources permit,
the raw materials used should
be renewable rather than non-renewable.
|
| 8.
|
Where possible,
any deviation unnecessary of
the synthetic scheme (use of
blocking agents, protect / unprotect,
temporary modification of physical
process / chemical) must be
reduced or eliminated.
|
| 9.
|
Catalytic reagents
are more effective than stoichiometric
reagents. We must encourage
the use of catalytic reagents
most selective possible.
|
| 10.
|
Chemical products
should be designed so as to
dissociate into harmless breakdown
products at the end of their
useful life, that in order to
prevent their persistence in
the environment.
|
| 11.
|
Analytical methodologies
should be developed to enable
monitoring and control in real
time during production before
there was appearance of dangerous
substances.
|
| 12.
|
Substances and
the form of a substance used
in a chemical process should
be chosen to minimize the risk
of chemical accidents, including
releases, explosions and fires.

In 1989 JPP LARONZE, created LABEMA
to produce water's anticorrosions, without
V.O.C.
20 years later, a new step, with the
entrance of LABEMA
in the Pôle
écoconception and the
Association
de la Chimie du Végétal.
The willingness of the Association
de la Chimie du Végétal,
is to promote wherever possible the
use of carbon produced by plants (ie
renewable) without competing with human
food or animal, either by choice plants,
either by the method of cultivation
or harvesting.
Four new products from the plant world,
the VEGERUST®
is marketed by LABEMA.
They have exactly the same efficiency
as conventional products; the overhead
is very weak or negligible.
